Erin Piacenti had just begun a new chapter in her life when everything changed. The 32-year-old Bank of America vice president had recently returned to work after five months of maternity leave, following the birth of her baby daughter. She and her husband, Frank, were also enjoying a young family life that included a recent wedding anniversary and their first home in New Jersey. But while traveling home through Times Square, Erin became one of two victims caught in an unexpected incident. Police later described the encounter as random and unprovoked, leaving her loved ones facing an unimaginable loss. Her death came just weeks after she and Frank celebrated their second wedding anniversary on August 10, making the timing especially heartbreaking for everyone who knew her.

Erin had accomplished a great deal by the age of 32. She joined Bank of America in February 2025 after working in corporate law and spending time with Morgan Stanley’s Legal & Compliance Division. She graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in 2021 and previously earned a political science degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Beyond her professional achievements, Erin was a wife and new mother building a future with her family. Bank of America described her as a valued teammate, while Fordham remembered her as a cherished member of its law-school community. For her husband, daughter, family and friends, the loss is made even harder by knowing how much Erin had ahead of her. She had just returned to work, celebrated another year of marriage and was beginning what should have been a joyful new season of family life.
