Former Fox Business producer Jennifer Eckhart was found dead at her Hobe Sound, Florida, home on September 19, 2026, at age 36, following years of major personal and professional changes. Eckhart left Fox in 2020 and later became widely known for a lawsuit against former Fox News anchor Ed Henry, whom she accused of rape, grooming, psychological manipulation, and coercion. Henry denied the allegations and said their relationship was consensual. The case was settled in June 2025 after what Eckhart described as a difficult five-year legal battle, while Fox News had been dismissed from the lawsuit several months earlier. Afterward, Eckhart focused on turning her experiences into advocacy, hosting REINVENTED with Jen Eckhart and running The Reinvented Project, which supported trauma survivors through animal-assisted therapy. Authorities later provided additional details about the period before Eckhart’s death. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said she had been placed under Florida’s Baker Act six times during the previous 18 months and had spent seven weeks in a mental health facility, leaving about a week before her death. Investigators said she had attempted to purchase a firearm the day before she died but instead bought a knife because of Florida’s waiting period. Authorities ultimately ruled her death a suicide, with the medical examiner reaching the same conclusion. According to reports citing the sheriff’s office, Eckhart’s mother was the person who discovered her daughter in the master bathroom of the home. A small folding pocketknife was reportedly found nearby, and a paramedic pronounced Eckhart dead at 11:57 a.m. Investigators determined that no other person was responsible. Her death came after years spent publicly discussing reinvention, trauma, family, and helping others, even as authorities said she had been facing serious private difficulties.
