Angus T. Jones became famous as Jake Harper on Two and a Half Men, joining the CBS sitcom when he was only around nine years old and remaining with the series until he was 19. During his time on the show, he reportedly earned between $250,000 and $300,000 per episode, making him one of television’s highest-paid young stars. But in 2012, Jones publicly questioned his involvement in the sitcom, saying its content conflicted with his religious beliefs and urging viewers to stop watching. He later apologized for those comments, stressing that he respected his castmates and was grateful for the opportunity. Jones ultimately left the series in 2013 after Season 10. His departure came as he became increasingly focused on his faith, although he later reportedly left the church in 2016 and apologized directly to creator Chuck Lorre for remarks that had insulted the show.
