Maya Jama has addressed speculation that she and former boyfriend Stormzy have rekindled their relationship after fans noticed her singing along to one of his songs and following him again on Instagram. The Love Island presenter, 32, sparked the rumours after sharing a video of herself in a car, wearing headphones and miming along to Stormzy’s track “One Second.” Social-media users quickly connected the post with the pair’s history and questioned whether they had quietly reunited. Maya later shared another account’s post about the speculation on X and made her position clear. “I like the song. We have always been friends. No one is back together, rest with the theories,” she wrote. Maya and Stormzy first got together in 2015 after initially becoming friends. Maya previously admitted she had fancied the rapper from the beginning, while Stormzy later spoke openly about how deeply he had felt about their relationship. The couple split in 2019 before reconnecting several years later.

Their reunion became public in 2023 after they were photographed together on holiday, and they subsequently confirmed they were giving the relationship another chance. However, the pair announced another separation in July 2024, explaining that they had made a final attempt to make their relationship work but ultimately decided to go their separate ways. Maya has since been linked to several well-known figures, including former NBA star Ben Simmons and Manchester City footballer Rúben Dias. She and Simmons became engaged in 2021 before splitting the following year, while her relationship with Dias reportedly lasted around 18 months. Dias later denied cheating allegations following their breakup, saying the reasons for their separation were private. For now, Maya has made it clear that her latest interaction with Stormzy should not be interpreted as a romantic reunion.
