The allegations cover a nine-year period from 2009 to 2018 and include claims that City failed to provide accurate financial information, disclosed incorrect details concerning payments to players and managers, and breached both Premier League profitability and sustainability rules and UEFA financial regulations. The ruling could have major consequences for the club, although the eventual punishment has not yet been decided. Potential sanctions could include a substantial fine, a points deduction or, in the most serious scenario, expulsion from the Premier League.
