According to TMZ, Gerber filmed himself touring a bedroom and other parts of Resolutions Living at around 10 p.m. on September 19, 2026. The footage reportedly shows him appearing intoxicated, and he was found dead roughly 12 hours later. Sources told TMZ that Gerber had gotten high earlier that day and became frightened by his loss of control. His sober coach reportedly contacted the residence and explained that Gerber was under the influence, but the facility agreed to admit him. The coach had planned to take him to a rehabilitation program on Monday and reportedly left him at the sober home for the weekend. Emergency responders arrived around 9:30 a.m. Sunday following a call concerning cardiac arrest and an overdose. Gerber was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Los Angeles County medical examiner had not publicly determined his official cause and manner of death at the time of the report.

Although the residence presented itself as a luxury recovery environment, California officials said it was not a licensed residential substance-use treatment facility. Sources also claimed Gerber was visibly under the influence when admitted and may have continued using drugs inside. The facility’s owner, Dr. Reza Nabavi, has also faced renewed attention over past criminal convictions and an earlier denial of his psychology license application. Separately, TMZ reported allegations that Gerber had been receiving ketamine from a doctor despite known substance-use problems.
