Daniela Barragán, Whose Phone Was Found Burned, Died In the Iztapalapa Explosion At 19: Last Comments From Her Boyfriend

Daniela Barragán, a 19-year-old UNAM student, was identified after a tragic gas tanker explosion in Iztapalapa on September 10, 2025. Her burned cell phone, still ringing amid the rubble, led rescuers to her family.

Her boyfriend, Bryan Ramos, launched a desperate social media search, sharing updates and asking for help. After nearly 36 hours, DNA tests confirmed her death. Daniela’s case mobilized thousands online, and her story became a symbol of the tragedy.

Bryan later shared an emotional farewell, mourning the loss of his future wife and expressing frustration over the authorities’ handling of the search. Despite the heartbreak, he found solace in knowing Daniela had been found and would be remembered with love.
