Christopher Meloni’s stunning West Village home is filled with spectacular skyline views, colorful artwork, custom furniture, and personal treasures, but one unforgettable family story began before the renovation was complete. The Law & Order: SVU actor revealed that his daughter, Sophia, once invited a few friends over to the nearly empty apartment for what was supposed to be a small gathering. Instead, the event reportedly turned into a full-blown rave, complete with spray paint and people hanging over the balconies. Looking back, Christopher recalled the chaos with humor, saying, “I still love her.” The actor shares the home with his wife, Sherman Williams, an accomplished artist and production designer whom he married in 1995. Together, they raised Sophia and their son, Dante, in a residence designed to reflect their family’s creative personalities.
The couple transformed six separate apartments into one extraordinary two-level home, with each floor spanning approximately 2,500 square feet. The renovation took around three and a half years and included a striking custom staircase, dramatic marble surfaces, colorful furniture, and enormous windows overlooking Manhattan. Sherman deserves much of the credit for the interior design, which combines rich jewel tones, natural materials, and artwork collected over years of travel. Their daughter even has a spacious bedroom wing that Christopher admitted was intentionally designed to encourage her to stay home a little longer. The property also features a private gym, a cozy media room, a dedicated espresso station, and a wraparound terrace with breathtaking city views. Family photographs, career memorabilia, treasured rugs, and a dining table they have owned for approximately 25 years make the residence feel personal rather than like a luxury showroom. After years of planning and renovation, Christopher says he believes this will be the family’s final move, making the remarkable home a lasting reflection of their life together.
