I was flying from New York to Florida when the attendants handed out mixed nuts. The woman next to me immediately mentioned she had a severe nut allergy and refused her packet. She then complained to the attendant, insisting nuts shouldn’t have been served at all.
When she turned to me and asked me not to eat mine, I politely explained that I needed to take my medication with food but offered to move to the back of the plane to eat them.
When I returned, she stayed silent—until she pressed the call button and told the attendant that I “knowingly endangered” her by eating nuts. I was shocked.
Upon landing, airport security met me at the gate. No charges were filed, but I missed my connection and had to buy a new ticket.
Now I’m left wondering: should I just let it go—or try to find some way to get closure after such a stressful experience?
