Charlie Kirk’s killing has prompted grief and outrage across the country, including from celebrities. On Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, Jamie Lee Curtis broke down in tears while discussing the “horrifying” murder.
Kirk is to be buried September 21, after a memorial at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Though many opposed his views, his being slain during an open discussion was described as a tragedy that should disturb people across the political spectrum.
Curtis said she disagreed with Kirk “on almost every point,” yet believed he was a man of faith. She hoped that, in his final moments, he felt connected to that faith, noting he was also a father and a husband.
Through tears, she reflected on the harm of repeatedly viewing violent images online, invoking 9/11 footage and the circulating videos of Kirk’s shooting. “We don’t know the psychological effects,” she said, adding she never wants to see that footage.
