My Jobless Husband Stole $6,000 from My Account to Buy Golf Clubs – I Made Sure He Regretted It

I’m Mia, a 39-year-old nurse and mom of two. After a storm damaged our kids’ ceiling, I worked extra shifts and saved $8,000 for repairs. My husband, Dan, hasn’t worked since 2020 and is focused on golf. He asked for $6,000 for new clubs; I said no. Two days later, I saw the money was gone—he’d used it anyway.

I filed a report and provided the receipt and bank record. Officers asked Dan to return the clubs, and I brought them back for a refund. The ceiling fund was restored, and we got the room fixed a month later. The kids were thrilled to move back in.

Dan was upset about the situation, but I set clear boundaries: our money goes to the home and children first. He started applying for jobs. I stopped apologizing for being responsible and focused on stability.

I feel lighter now, knowing I protected our family’s needs. What would you have done in my place?
