Alexandra adopted her daughter, Liv, as a baby and cut all ties with her birth mom, believing it would protect her new family. As Liv grew older, she began asking questions about her biological mother. Fearing she might lose her, Alexandra lied and said, “Your mother moved on and never looked back.” Liv seemed to accept it, but Alexandra soon discovered a heartbreaking note saying Liv had learned the truth and needed space.
Alexandra later found out that Liv had secretly been in contact with her birth mom, who revealed that she had always wanted to be part of Liv’s life and had written letters that Alexandra never gave her. The revelation shattered Liv’s trust, leaving her feeling deeply betrayed by the one person she relied on most.
Now, Alexandra faces the painful reality of a broken family. Liv believes her birth mom and sees Alexandra as the person who stood in the way of their relationship. The once loving bond between mother and daughter has been replaced by anger, hurt, and distance.
To rebuild trust, Alexandra must give Liv the space she asked for and later approach her with honesty and accountability. By supporting Liv’s relationship with her birth mom instead of seeing it as a threat, Alexandra may begin the long journey toward healing and possibly regaining her daughter’s trust.
