Hacking group Anonymous has weighed in on the Jimmy Kimmel controversy after ABC suspended the late-night host indefinitely.
Kimmel was pulled from Jimmy Kimmel Live! after mocking Donald Trump’s response to the death of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist who was shot and killed at Utah Valley University on September 10.
During his monologue, Kimmel criticized Trump, saying his reaction was childish and disrespectful. ABC’s decision to suspend him sparked outrage online.
Anonymous posted on X (formerly Twitter), defending Kimmel:
“So Kimmel is taken off the air for showing a clip of Trump not giving a s** about Charlie Kirk and calling it for what it is. Gotcha.”*
Reactions were divided — some agreed with Anonymous, calling the suspension an attack on free speech, while others claimed Kimmel was punished for “spreading lies” about the shooter’s political affiliations.
Meanwhile, actor Ben Stiller also reacted to the news with a simple three-word post: “This isn’t right.”
