During a visit to Windsor Castle, the royals were enthusiastically chatting with Trump while Melania stood slightly apart, her large black hat covering most of her face and blending into the background. Social media users hilariously compared her look to a lamp, spy, robot, or even a “fashionable grim reaper.”
The moment came during the Trumps’ two-day UK state visit, which included meetings with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Kate Middleton, and other royals.
Some viewers also noticed Melania didn’t curtsy, sparking debate online. However, royal protocol does not require curtsying, and a handshake is perfectly acceptable, according to the Royal Family’s official guidelines.
