Erika described the shock and heartache she felt upon seeing Charlie’s body in the hospital, but also mentioned a small comfort. She said that despite the fatal wound, Charlie appeared peaceful, with a faint smile on his lips. The surgeon confirmed that Charlie’s death was instantaneous, with no suffering or pain. Erika found solace in knowing that Charlie was taken quickly and without fear.
