People are quitting jobs and selling cars after becoming convinced world will end as we know it tomorrow

South African pastor Joshua Mhlakela has sparked global buzz by predicting the rapture will occur on September 23-24, 2025, coinciding with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. He claims the event will be so powerful it will cause the Earth to “shake.”

The prophecy has gone viral on TikTok’s “RaptureTok,” with some believers quitting jobs, selling cars, and preparing for the world’s end. One TikTok user, Tilahun Desalegn, even sold his car, saying he’s “catching a flight to heaven.”

Skeptics, including comedian Kevin Fredericks, question the prophecy, pointing out that “no man knows the date or the hour.” Desalegn has promised to post an apology video if nothing happens, admitting he may have been deceived.
