Pastor Voddie Baucham Jr., a widely respected evangelical leader, passed away at 56 on September 25, 2025, just days after delivering a heartfelt sermon honoring the late Charlie Kirk. Known for his bold teachings and deep faith, Baucham served as Dean of the School of Divinity at African Christian University in Zambia and inspired many worldwide.
In 2021, he faced a serious health challenge, prompting a global wave of support through a fundraiser that raised over $1.4 million for his care. Despite his struggles, Baucham remained steadfast in his mission, continuing to teach and preach with passion and humility.
Baucham’s journey to faith began in college, leading him to a life dedicated to spreading the gospel through preaching, writing, and teaching. He also embraced unique pursuits, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, even founding Zambia’s first academy.
He leaves behind his wife, nine children, three grandchildren, and countless followers touched by his message. His legacy of faith and service continues to inspire, even as the evangelical community mourns his loss.
