A young girl walking home sensed danger as a man in black began following her. Fear surged through her, and a thought flashed in her mind: “Light! Noise!” Acting quickly, she turned on all the lights in the stairwell and pounded on the nearest door, screaming for help.
Her panicked cries echoed through the building, startling the man in black. For a moment, he froze, clearly not expecting her bold reaction. Suddenly, the door swung open to reveal a strong man, with a woman standing behind him, both alarmed by the commotion.
The stranger’s eyes widened in shock. Without saying a word, he turned and fled into the darkness of the yard, disappearing completely. The girl, though trembling and clutching her school bag, began to calm down as relief set in.
She remembered her father’s advice: create light and make noise to draw attention. By doing exactly that, she had scared off her pursuer — and saved her own life.
