First dates are meant to be exciting, but sometimes they turn into total disasters. One man took his date to a fancy restaurant, only for her to immediately ask for the most expensive dish on the menu. Luckily, the waiter claimed it was “out of stock” and continued doing so for every pricey item she requested. Grateful for saving him from financial ruin, the man left the waiter a generous tip.
In another story, a self-proclaimed foodie insisted on ordering for both himself and his date. When the food arrived, the woman took a bite and felt her throat closing — it contained shellfish, which she was severely allergic to. Instead of showing concern, the guy stayed behind to finish his meal while she rushed off for medical treatment.
Some dates were awkward in completely different ways. A woman waited 40 minutes for a blind date who finally showed up wearing sweatpants, explaining that his mom hadn’t washed the clothes he told her he’d wear. Another couple was so nervous about their first date that they both ended up throwing up — her before leaving home and him in the library parking lot.
One man had the most embarrassing experience of all. While downtown with his date, he suddenly discovered he was lactose intolerant after eating ice cream. Desperate, he ran behind some bushes to relieve himself, only to be spotted by a group of guys on a balcony yelling, “Hey, look! That guy’s taking a poop!” Needless to say, there was no second date.
