We’ve all had moments when there’s no restroom nearby and we need to hold it in. While doing this once in a while isn’t harmful, making it a habit can lead to health problems.
Holding urine too often can put stress on the kidneys, raise the risk of infections, and weaken bladder muscles, which may cause incontinence. It can also allow bacteria to multiply, leading to urinary tract infections. Over time, the bladder itself may stretch and struggle to return to normal.
So, while the occasional delay is fine, it’s best not to ignore your body’s signals too often.
