Sometimes, a lack of time or skills makes us call professionals for repairs — and that’s when funny or awkward stories can happen.
A friend once had a clogged drain. The plumber pulled out a huge clump of black hair. Blushing, she watched as he asked, “Long-haired dogs need so much care. What’s the dog’s name?” The “dog” was actually her.
Two electricians argued near someone’s house:
— “Bill, why do you keep pulling the cable?”
— “I’m not. This box was wrong from the start.”
A worker fixing a ceiling asked to leave his tools overnight — turns out his coworkers ditched him to go out. Another person ordered a countertop, but the workers made the wrong cutouts and refused to fix it.
A plumber once left a surprise — a woman found a man’s facial hair stuck in her heel after he’d been there fixing a leak! Another plumber arrived while a woman forgot to lock the bathroom door; her husband announced, “Here’s the cause of the clog!”
Some workers bring drama, too. An electrician’s wife sat through the whole job to “supervise” him. Another handyman didn’t recognize a client after she did her makeup.
And sometimes repairs are endless: one electrician kept forgetting tools and bulbs for days. But not all are bad — one old electrician, inspired by the homeowner’s art, received a blank canvas and paints to rekindle his dream.
In the end, you can try fixing things yourself — but it doesn’t always go smoothly either.
