My Aunt Convinced Grandma to Pay for a ‘Family Vacation’—Then Dumped Her in a Cheap Motel While She Lived in Luxury but We Had the Last Laugh

Family can be messy. When my aunt Lori convinced my sweet grandmother to fund a “family vacation,” Grandma thought it was a dream come true. She paid $5,000 so they could all relax by the ocean — but Lori had other plans.

When they arrived, Lori and her daughter checked into a luxury resort… and dumped Grandma at a roach-infested motel down the street. Grandma tried to stay positive, but when she called me in tears, I knew exactly what to do.

Using the same travel account Lori booked with, I upgraded Grandma to the resort’s best suite — charged entirely to Lori’s saved credit card. Then I walked Grandma right past Lori and her daughter at dinner. Their faces? Priceless.

That night, Grandma enjoyed the luxury she paid for, sipping tea on her ocean-view balcony. And when she got home, she finally cut Lori off for good. Sometimes the best revenge is giving kind people the peace — and power — they always deserved.
