Tears flowed as Kelly Osbourne took the stage at The Birmingham Awards on October 17, 2025, just three months after the death of her father, rock icon Ozzy Osbourne. Accepting his posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award, she delivered a deeply emotional tribute to the man the world knew as the “Prince of Darkness,” but to her, was simply “Dad.”
In a moving speech, Kelly highlighted Ozzy’s monumental legacy: twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, five Grammy wins, and twelve nominations. But above all, she said, this Birmingham honor meant the most to him.
She spoke lovingly of his devotion to his hometown, revealing that while he cherished his Hollywood Walk of Fame star, it was his star on Birmingham’s Broad Street that truly filled him with pride. Though work kept him in America, Birmingham “was always his heart and soul.”
Kelly broke down as she recalled the overwhelming love shown during Ozzy’s final hometown concert, joined by original Black Sabbath members in Aston. “He was a proud Brummy at the beginning of his career, and he was a proud Brummy at the end,” she said, ending with gratitude on behalf of her family.
The applause was thunderous, and emotional clips of the speech quickly went viral, drawing heartfelt reactions from fans who praised Kelly’s strength and touching tribute.
This wasn’t her first homage; days after his passing in July, she shared a heartbreaking Instagram message mourning the loss of her “best friend,” as the family announced Ozzy had died “surrounded by love” after his final Birmingham farewell.
