The 34-year-old, who is obese, had purchased two seats to ensure comfort during the flight. The flight attendant got involved but sided with the mother, asking the woman to try squeezing into one seat. The mother’s 18-month-old was supposed to sit on her lap, and eventually the attendant told the mom to do so. Critics argued the mother should have bought a seat for her child instead of expecting someone else to give one up.
