When My MIL Let Her Friend Borrow My Things While I Was Away — Karma Had the Last Laugh

While I was away on a business trip, my mother-in-law Janet let her friend Sheryl raid my closet and use my makeup without my permission. I found out when my neighbor sent me a video of Sheryl wearing my clothes and applying my expensive lipstick in my own home.

When I came back, my wedding dress was ruined, my closet trashed, and Janet acted like it was no big deal. Sheryl even showed up to my house, acting like borrowing my things was perfectly fine. My husband Dave was furious and kicked Sheryl out, while I demanded Janet leave.

But I didn’t seek revenge I let karma handle it. A week later, Janet called me frantic: Sheryl had a severe allergic reaction from using my makeup and was hospitalized. Janet apologized and promised to make things right. She replaced my makeup, cleaned my wedding dress, and started respecting boundaries.

In the end, karma did the work better than any revenge I could have planned. Janet learned her lesson, Sheryl stayed away, and Dave and I grew stronger together. Moral? Never mess with someone’s stuff. Karma’s got you covered.
