After 18-year-old Anna Kepner was found dead from mechanical asphyxiation aboard the Carnival Horizon, her fractured family has erupted into public conflict.
The FBI is investigating.
Anna’s estranged mother, Heather Wright, says she was pushed out of her daughter’s life for years and was warned not to attend the memorial. She partially blames her ex-husband, Christopher Kepner, for placing Anna and her teenage stepbrother in the same room.
Christopher, meanwhile, suggests his 16-year-old stepson may have been involved, saying he wants the boy to “face the consequences” if evidence confirms it.
Friends paint a troubling picture of Anna’s living situation, claiming the stepbrother behaved inappropriately and that Anna felt unsafe and unwelcome in her blended household.
The family, already strained by distance, is now divided by grief, accusations, and an active federal investigation into who killed Anna.
