My sister Emily is getting married soon. We’ve always been close, but after my breakup with Chris — my boyfriend of 5 years — things shifted. We split because he moved overseas for work, and I wasn’t willing to relocate.
Yesterday, Emily told me Chris is not only invited to the wedding but will be a groomsman. Then she said I’m not invited due to a “limited guest list” and because my presence might “cause drama.”
I had planned to pay for half of her wedding as my gift, but after being uninvited in favor of my ex, I told her she’d have to manage without my financial help. She blew up, calling me petty and selfish.
Now the family is divided. Some say I’m right, others say I’m letting my breakup affect her big day.
