Grandma’s Famous Monterey Sausage Pie

This comforting, old-fashioned sausage pie is a family classic packed with savory breakfast sausage, melty Monterey Jack cheese, and a creamy egg custard in a flaky crust. It’s easy to make, crowd-pleasing, and perfect for brunch, holidays, or cozy dinners.

How to Make It:
Brown 1 lb sausage and drain. Press pie crust into a dish. Layer sausage and 1½ cups shredded Monterey Jack. Whisk 4 eggs with 1 cup half-and-half, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, then pour over filling. Add top crust if desired. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35–45 minutes until golden and set. Rest 10 minutes before slicing.
Grandma’s tip: add a pinch of dry mustard or hot sauce for extra flavor.
