Two nuns stepped into a neighborhood 7-11 on a sweltering summer afternoon, quietly browsing the aisles to escape the heat. As they passed the glowing beer cooler, one nun paused and smiled. She remarked that a cold beer sounded especially refreshing on such a warm evening. Her companion agreed, but hesitated, worrying that buying beer might draw curious looks or cause an awkward moment at the register. Calm and confident, the first nun assured her there was nothing to worry about and placed a six-pack into their basket before heading to the checkout.
When the cashier saw the nuns approaching with the beer, his eyebrows rose in surprise. Without missing a beat, one of the nuns explained that they used beer to wash their hair back at the nunnery and jokingly referred to it as “Catholic shampoo.” The cashier nodded thoughtfully, reached beneath the counter, and pulled out a package of pretzel sticks, saying, “In that case, you’ll probably need these too—for the curlers.”
