Edited ‘image’ of Harry and Meghan’s children did not go down well

Royal fans reacted angrily after a fake, AI-generated image of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, began circulating online. The image appeared shortly after the Sussexes released their official holiday card, which respected their children’s privacy by avoiding clear facial photos.

The fake card—easily traced to a Canva template—showed the children looking older and sparked backlash over using AI to fabricate images of real kids. Fans called it “creepy” and pointed out obvious AI flaws, reinforcing criticism of exploiting children’s likenesses despite their parents’ efforts to keep them out of the spotlight.
