Dealing with 10 Common Bathroom Pests

Bathrooms can attract a variety of small pests because of moisture and hidden food sources. Silverfish, cockroaches, and drain flies are among the most common, often drawn to humidity, soap residue, and standing water. Spiders, ants, earwigs, and centipedes may also wander in searching for moisture or prey. Even tiny insects like psocids (booklice), pill bugs, and springtails thrive in damp environments, especially where ventilation is poor or mold is present.

The key to keeping these pests away is controlling moisture and sealing entry points. Run an exhaust fan or open windows after showers, fix leaks promptly, and wipe down wet surfaces. Regularly clean drains to remove buildup, store products in closed cabinets, and seal cracks around pipes, doors, and baseboards. By maintaining a dry, clean, and well-ventilated bathroom, you can greatly reduce the chances of unwanted visitors settling in.
