Jones was fatally shot in the early hours of March 7, 2026, while working as a security guard at the Saddle Bar in Acworth, Georgia. According to local police, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 2:42 a.m. and found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities say the incident began when Jones stepped in to break up a fight involving a 25-year-old man. After the altercation was stopped, the suspect allegedly retrieved a firearm and shot Jones. Jones had built a respected athletic career through determination and hard work.
