Easy Oven-Baked Bacon Guide

Few kitchen aromas feel as comforting as bacon slowly crisping in the oven. This method has become a favorite for relaxed mornings when you want something delicious without the mess and constant attention of stovetop cooking. Instead of standing over a pan dealing with grease splatters, the oven does all the work, allowing you to enjoy your coffee or prepare the rest of your meal. It’s especially helpful when hosting brunch, as it frees up space on the stove and ensures every strip cooks evenly. The result is consistently crisp bacon with less effort and a much cleaner kitchen.

To make oven-baked bacon, start by preheating your oven to 400°F (205°C) and lining a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment for easy cleanup. Arrange the bacon strips in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap. Place the tray on the center rack and bake until the bacon reaches your desired level of crispiness—about 15–18 minutes for regular slices and 18–22 minutes for thicker cuts. Once done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel–lined plate to absorb excess grease. This method delivers evenly cooked, crispy bacon every time, making it perfect not only for breakfast but also for meal prep, sandwiches, or adding a savory touch to your favorite dishes.
