She was a beautiful soul, inspiring, and above all, kind. She will be greatly missed.”
Born on August 16, 1974, in Digby, Nova Scotia, Fleming later moved to Victoria, B.C., where she attended Mount Douglas Senior Secondary.Fleming’s parents split when she was just two, and she grew up with her mother. Her father, a former spring model, later became a pilot and yacht captain, living a nomadic life in Florida.Perhaps it was also a legacy of her father’s ambitions that led her to move to Vancouver and begin working as a model. But it was as an actress that she would find her greatest success, and the dance and drama instructors who trained her recognized her talent early on.“She had such a fresh face,” said Dama Hanks, Fleming’s teacher, in a 2012 interview with Times Colonist. She was as low-maintenance performer as a director could wish for,” added John Gray, creator of the CBS series Ghost Whisperer.
