Stanley Tucci, 65, opens up about how 21-year age gap marriage with wife Felicity Blunt ‘changed his life’

Stanley Tucci has often spoken with warmth about his marriage to Felicity Blunt, saying that the age gap between them ultimately became something that enriched his life rather than complicated it. The actor, long admired for his effortless screen presence and quiet charisma, has built a career that made him one of Hollywood’s most consistently engaging figures. Yet behind the polished image and culinary charm, Tucci’s personal story carries a surprising tenderness. He first met Felicity, a literary agent and sister of actress Emily Blunt, at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada in 2006, before being properly reintroduced years later at Emily’s wedding in Lake Como. What began as a chance reconnection soon evolved into a relationship that Tucci has described as unexpectedly grounding after a difficult period in his life, including the loss of his first wife, Kate, in 2009.

Married in 2012, Tucci and Felicity Blunt now share two children together, alongside his three from his previous marriage. Speaking on Jenna Bush Hager’s podcast Open Book, Tucci reflected on their 21-year age gap with surprising simplicity, saying that while they had “a lot in common” and “nothing in common,” the connection just worked. He has praised Felicity as “fun,” “incredibly positive,” and intellectually remarkable, describing her ability to absorb and interpret the world as something extraordinary. More importantly, he credits her with giving him and his children a renewed sense of stability and emotional security after years of grief. For Tucci, the relationship was not something he planned for, but something that “just made sense,” reshaping his outlook on life and companionship in ways he never expected.
