What began as a routine drive home after work quickly turned into a frightening wake-up call when flashing blue police lights appeared behind the car on a rain-soaked motorway. The driver had recently been prescribed medication following a painful shoulder injury and had ignored his doctor’s advice not to drive until he understood how the medication affected him. At first, he believed he felt perfectly normal, but as the journey continued, subtle symptoms slowly took control. His reactions became delayed, his vision unfocused, and waves of dizziness and exhaustion made it difficult to concentrate on the road ahead. When police officers pulled him over, they immediately noticed signs of impairment and questioned him about alcohol and drug use.
