Jamaican-born pilot Jabari Brown, known online as Captain Treezy, recently made headlines after being temporarily detained during a major drug investigation in Paraguay. Brown had previously gained worldwide attention after winning a $2 million private jet in a challenge hosted by YouTube star MrBeast. At just 20 years old, Brown defeated 99 other pilots in demanding tasks that included hauling aircraft, surviving intense jet blasts, and holding onto a plane for nearly nineteen hours on a freeway in Saudi Arabia. However, authorities from Paraguay’s National Anti-Drug Secretariat later detained Brown alongside three other Americans after discovering more than 261 kilograms of high-THC marijuana worth approximately $3.6 million aboard a private aircraft arriving from Miami. Although Brown was initially questioned because he served as the co-pilot on the flight, officials later confirmed he had no involvement in the drug operation and released him shortly afterward.
The investigation continued against the remaining suspects, including individuals from New York, Florida, and California, who were formally charged with international drug trafficking and illegal possession of narcotics. Authorities also issued an arrest warrant for the aircraft’s pilot, reportedly Estonian citizen Keith Siilats, who had already left Paraguay before the drugs were discovered. The seized marijuana represented a significant financial blow to criminal organizations connected to the illegal trade. Brown’s sudden involvement in such a high-profile case shocked many fans who remembered him as the young pilot who became famous through MrBeast’s competition. Before his rise to internet fame, Brown explained that he was already qualified to fly commercial aircraft but was still too young under United States law to work for airlines. Despite the controversy surrounding the incident, Paraguayan officials publicly clarified that Brown was not connected to the smuggling operation and was free to leave after questioning.
