Turning Point USA has announced a public memorial service for its late founder, Charlie Kirk, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, next weekend. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m., with the program starting at 11:00 a.m.
Kirk, who died at age 31, founded the conservative grassroots organization in 2012. What started in a garage grew into a nationwide movement. A tribute on fightforcharlie.com described him as a man of faith and leadership who “died doing what he loved: fighting for truth, family, and America.”
News of the event drew strong reactions online. Many praised the scale of the memorial, while some criticized the timing, noting it overlaps with Sunday church services.
Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk, recently shared emotional photos and videos of her final moments with him. In a message, she expressed both grief and faith, saying she believed her husband was now in God’s care.
At a press briefing, Erika thanked first responders and public officials, including President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, for their support. Fighting tears, she promised to carry on her husband’s work and expand Turning Point USA:
“Charlie, I promise I will never let your legacy die. I’ll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing this nation has ever seen.”
She also shared a touching moment with their young daughter, Gigi, who asked about her father. Erika told her, “Daddy’s on a work trip with Jesus.”
