Charlie Kirk’s Memorial — Erika Kirk Reveals the Message She Chose to Give

Erika Kirk stood before thousands of mourners at her husband Charlie Kirk’s memorial service on September 21, 2025, and spoke about the final moments of a life they had built together. Remembering the ordinary morning before his trip to Utah, she recalled sending him a simple message: “I love you.” She had planned to travel with him, but stayed in Arizona while her mother underwent a medical procedure. Later, a phone call brought devastating news that Charlie had been seriously injured during his appearance at Utah Valley University. Erika traveled to Utah, where she was able to say a final goodbye to her husband. During her emotional speech, she also shared a small detail she had never told Charlie while he was alive: she had noticed a single gray hair near the side of his head. “Now he knows,” she said, adding a tender joke that brought a deeply personal moment to the memorial.

Yet one of the most memorable moments came when Erika addressed the person accused of causing her husband’s death. Instead of focusing only on anger or grief, she offered three simple words: “I forgive him.” Her statement became a defining part of the memorial, reflecting the way she chose to respond during an incredibly painful period. Charlie, the founder of Turning Point USA, had been speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10 when he was fatally shot. The incident led to a major investigation and widespread mourning, with political leaders and supporters remembering his public influence. For Erika, however, the memorial was ultimately about more than politics. It was a chance to honor her husband, remember the father her children loved, and share a final message of love while beginning a new chapter for her family.
