A family vacation marking a major anniversary turned into a desperate search when 56-year-old Thomas Gigler disappeared aboard the Carnival Panorama. Gigler, a computer programmer and father of three, was traveling with his wife, Michelle, 48, and their sons as the ship sailed from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, toward Long Beach, California. The family had already spent six days at sea when Thomas vanished on September 19. His and Michelle’s 15th wedding anniversary was only four days away, on September 23.
