Officers arrived at the home in the 10700 block of Sunrise Circle at around 10:45 a.m. They entered based on what they learned at the scene and found 3 people inside with apparent gunshot wounds.The first public information was limited. There were no names, no detailed explanation of what had unfolded inside, and no indication yet of how the people in the house were connected.While detectives began answering those questions from evidence at the scene, relatives had a different place to look: the final days before anyone knew there was an emergency.Someone Close to Carlos Had Noticed a ChangeThe people in the home were later identified as Carlos Shelton, 65, his wife, Elida Shelton, 63, and their 27-year-old son, Brian Shelton. All 3 lived at the property.Jose Zamarippa, who is married to Carlos and Elida’s daughter, later recalled something about Carlos that had already stood out before September 23. He had become withdrawn and was “not acting like his normal self”.
