Tragedy has struck for Gypsy Rose Blanchard, whose fiancé Ken Urker has passed away at just 34 years old.Louisiana’s Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office told LADbible Group in a statement that officers were called to a property in the state after Urker was found ‘unresponsive’.Officers reportedly received the call at approximately 6.15pm local time on 1 October, and upon reaching the property, Urker had already died.The pair welcomed a daughter, Aurora Raina, in December 2024.Her arrival came not long after 35-year-old Blanchard, who served time for her role in the killing of her own mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, publicly put to bed months of speculation over who Aurora’s biological father really was, confirming it was Urker and not her then-estranged husband, Ryan Anderson.
“There’s been a lot of chatter around the paternity of our baby and while we’ve known for sure from the beginning, I feel that it’s finally time to put all these theories to rest,” she wrote in a now-deleted post. “Ken is the father.”She continued: “Ken is going to be an incredible dad and we are so excited to welcome our baby girl into the world.”Blanchard and Urker’s romance actually dates back much further, to 2017, when he began writing to her as a pen pal while she was serving her sentence over the 2015 murder of her mother.By October 2018, the two had gotten engaged, though things didn’t last, with the pair parting ways less than a year later in August 2019.
Blanchard went on to tie the knot with Anderson in a 2022 prison wedding, a marriage that ultimately unravelled in March 2024, just a few months after she’d regained her freedom. By the close of that year, the divorce had been formally signed off.
