Paul Rosolie has described the worst pain he’s ever experienced in his life, and it’s not the moment when he let a snake try and eat him alive. In that case he had a suit of special protective gear to protect him from the fangs and crushing power of the giant serpent, and even there Rosolie had to tap out because he was worried that something was about to go badly wrong.Clad in carbon fibre and slathered in pig blood to entice the snake to eat him, Rosolie aborted his efforts to be eaten alive by a snake when his arm started to bend and he ‘felt the bone flex’.Admitting he was the sort of person to say ‘I’m fine’ until the last possible moment, he recently explained that it was a much smaller creature that caused him more pain than being crushed in the snake’s jaws.

Instead of a mighty snake it was a small caterpillar.Rosolie described the insect as being orange and having ‘vertical fluffy hair’.”I caught this caterpillar and I know it was bad news, I had it on a leaf and I was like ‘I am gonna be so careful’,” he explained as he recounted the experience that would turn painful.”I’m getting it in the box and right as I got it in the box the leaf just, whoosh.”He flopped his hand down to represent the leaf giving way and dropping the caterpillar onto his hand, which is exactly what he’d been trying to avoid.Explaining that beneath the caterpillar’s fuzzy exterior were a series of ‘Christmas tree spines’, he described it as ‘shockingly horrible’ when they made contact with him.He said that the notorious bullet ant pain was ‘bad’, this orange fluffy caterpillar was ‘way worse than the bullet ant’.
