Kai Trump, the 19-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump, has shared a surprising health update after posting a photograph from a hospital bed. The young golfer appeared wearing glasses and a hospital gown, with her arm supported by a large black brace. Her announcement quickly attracted messages of concern and encouragement from followers. Kai explained that the procedure had not been part of her original plans and that she had consulted her family, coaches, and athletic trainers before making the decision. Already familiar with the challenges of recovering from injuries, she acknowledged that the months ahead would look different from what she had expected. But the reason behind her latest operation revealed just how much her promising golf career had been affected.

Kai confirmed that she underwent surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York to repair a wrist injury sustained during her first golf tournament of the season. Although she initially hoped the injury would heal without surgery, she ultimately chose the procedure to protect her long-term health and future in the sport. She thanked Dr. Carlson and the medical team for their care. The setback follows an earlier left-wrist operation in January 2026, which required months of rehabilitation, as well as a bout of strep throat during her first week of college. Now a freshman on the University of Miami women’s golf team, Kai has not announced a date for her return to competition. Despite the uncertainty, she remains optimistic about recovering and rejoining her teammates, assuring supporters that she hopes to return stronger and more grateful than ever.
