President Donald Trump has faced widespread criticism after sharing disturbing footage and an AI-generated video connected to a tragic incident at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster, England. On October 10, 2026, 23-year-old William Chapman lost his life after entering an enclosure occupied by a tiger named Altai. Witnesses reported that a woman attempted to prevent him from entering the restricted area, but he continued toward the animal. Emergency responders arrived shortly afterward, although Chapman was pronounced dead at the scene. As footage of the incident circulated online, Trump reportedly shared a recording of the encounter before posting an AI-generated clip portraying himself interacting playfully with a tiger. His social media activity sparked criticism from people who considered the posts insensitive. However, the most emotional response came from the young man’s grieving family.

Chapman’s relatives publicly appealed for people to stop sharing recordings and AI-generated recreations of the tragedy, explaining that the content was causing them additional distress during an already devastating period. In a family statement, they revealed that William, a former child actor, had struggled with significant mental health difficulties for several years. Despite those challenges, they remembered him as a warm, intelligent, and loving young man who was deeply cherished by those closest to him. His family also expressed hope that investigators would establish what led to his decision to enter the enclosure. The controversy surrounding Trump’s posts prompted a response from a UK government spokesperson, who acknowledged the family’s position while declining to comment directly on the president’s social media activity. As investigations continue, Chapman’s family has made one request clear: they want the public to respect their grief and stop circulating footage of his final moments.
