Model Sahara Ray Dies at 34 — Her Final Tribute to Daughter Snow Takes on Heartbreaking Meaning

Model and swimwear designer Sahara Ray had recently entered a new chapter of her life, sharing tender moments with her baby daughter, Snow, on social media. Now, following reports of the Australian-American model’s death at 34, those photographs have taken on a heartbreaking significance. Ray’s passing was reported by TMZ on October 19, 2026, with her family confirming that she died at a hospital surrounded by loved ones. Her final Instagram post, shared on July 19, featured photographs of Snow smiling and playing, accompanied by the touching caption, “My whole heart 🤍 baby Snow.” Ray welcomed her daughter in January 2026 and had openly expressed her excitement before giving birth, describing herself as both nervous and thrilled. Although she shared glimpses of motherhood with her followers, she never publicly identified Snow’s father. Behind the glamorous modeling images, however, Ray had faced serious personal challenges, including struggles with addiction and a frightening neurological diagnosis.

Born in Australia to professional surfer Tony Ray, Sahara grew up traveling between Australia, California, and Hawaii before pursuing fashion and modeling. She later moved to Los Angeles, studied at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, and launched her own swimwear label, Sahara Ray Swim. Her public profile grew further after she was photographed vacationing with Justin Bieber in Hawaii in 2016, sparking romance rumors that were never publicly confirmed. She was also linked to other musicians over the years. In December 2021, Ray disclosed that she had entered a 30-day treatment program addressing mental health and substance-use concerns. In 2024, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome after experiencing severe weakness and paralysis that left her unable to walk. Despite those setbacks, becoming a mother brought a new source of joy into her life. Reports cited by the Daily Mail alleged that Ray suffered a suspected fentanyl overdose on October 16 and was placed on life support before her family reportedly made the difficult decision to withdraw it two days later. Her cause of death had not been officially confirmed in the reports, and the circumstances surrounding the suspected overdose remained unclear. Her mother, Gretchen, remembered her as a passionate and kind woman who loved her family, fashion, surfing, and daughter. As tributes continue to emerge, Ray is being remembered not only for her modeling career and celebrity connections, but also for the love she shared with her little girl.
