Taylor’s distrust of doctors stemmed from childhood trauma when his mother died due to a misdiagnosis. He refused his wife Polly’s request for a nanny and even ignored medical emergencies. One morning, stuck in traffic, he refused to move for an ambulance, believing it was unnecessary.
Later that day, Taylor received a shocking message: his son Mark was in the hospital after a severe accident. At the hospital, Polly revealed they were delayed by traffic but managed to get through thanks to the ambulance driver’s quick thinking. Taylor realized in horror that he had been the one blocking the ambulance carrying his own son.
Mark survived thanks to timely surgery, and Taylor broke down, overwhelmed with guilt. He found the ambulance driver, James, and apologized, learning about his financial struggles. Out of gratitude, Taylor offered him a job as his driver, eventually also hiring James’ wife, Helena, as the family nanny.
This experience changed Taylor completely. He began supporting the hospital financially and learned to value family and generosity over money. From then on, whenever he heard sirens, he was the first to move aside, never repeating his past mistake.
