A document tied to one of the most disturbing cases in recent memory has just been significantly revised, and the changes are raising more questions than answers.The legal case surrounding slain teenager, Celeste Rivas, has taken another grim turn, months after her body was discovered in a state that stunned investigators.Now, a newly updated death certificate is filling in blanks that were once left open. While some of the changes bring long-awaited clarity to her case, at least one edit points to something far more unsettling.Celeste’s original death certificate was first released in September, just weeks after her body was found dismembered and decomposing in the trunk of a Tesla belonging to musician D4vd.At the time, the investigation was still in its earliest stages, and the document was filled with gaps.

Now, following D4vd’s arrest and the filing of criminal charges, the L.A. County Medical Examiner has gone back in and made corrections, and the updated certificate tells a far more complete story.The most straightforward updates involve the cause and manner of death. Where the original listed “deferred” as the cause, the revised document now states “multiple penetrating injuries.”The manner of death, previously marked as “pending investigation,” has been officially updated to “homicide.”The certificate also now reflects that the injury date, hour, place, and location are all unknown. The field asking investigators to describe how the injury occurred now reads simply: “with object(s).”These changes align with what the Medical Examiner revealed earlier this month, shortly after LAPD arrested D4vd and the District Attorney’s Office filed criminal charges against him.D4vd has since pleaded not guilty to murder, mutilation of a body, and having sex with Celeste before she turned 14 years old.
