Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son Maddox is taking a leaf out of his sister’s book and legally changing his name in light of making a new move into the entertainment industry.he decision came after it was reported that his younger sibling, Shiloh, had chosen to do the same after her 18th birthday.While not a legal change, Zahara, the eldest daughter of Jolie and Pitt, also seemed to have done something similar when she graduated from Spelman College with a degree in Psychology this month.It was seen that the 21-year-old was listed as ‘Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt’ in the university’s graduation but then was introduced as Zahara Marley Jolie as she walked the stage.When it comes to Maddox, he decided to make his change permanent, and has officially petitioned to legally remove ‘Pitt’ from his double-barrelled last name, just as Shiloh did.

Pitt and Jolie had a whirlwind start after meeting on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith in 2003 and announcing their relationship once Pit and Jennifer Aniston’s divorce was settled in 2005.They then married in 2014, but two years later, Jolie filed for divorce, claiming instances of aggression on Pitt’s part.However, with their divorce finally settled in December 2024, it seems that some of the eldest kids between the two have chosen to remove their last names.Maddox, 24, had previously been seen sporting his double-barrel on the credits of Maria, a biopic about opera singer Maria Callas, directed by Jolie.But now, the 24-year-old allegedly has filed documents requesting a legal name change, per TMZ on 28 May, which would change his full name to Maddox Chivan Jolie.However, the outlet states that the request hasn’t been granted just yet.
