My Husband Brought His Playstation to Our Baby’s Delivery – The Nurses Made Sure He Regretted It

Serena expected labor to be painful, but she never imagined the worst part would be feeling completely alone while her husband treated the hospital room like a gaming setup. As contractions intensified, Neal unpacked his PlayStation, searched for an HDMI port, and focused more on his online matches than the woman preparing to give birth to their daughter. Serena kept trying to excuse his behavior the way she always had throughout their marriage, convincing herself he would mature when it truly mattered. Instead, every painful moment made her feel more abandoned. The nurses watched in disbelief as Serena struggled through active labor while Neal barely looked away from the screen. When Serena reached for his hand, he brushed her off, saying he was “in the middle of a match.” The humiliation hurt almost as much as the contractions. Nurse Maribel quickly realized Serena needed support, so she called both Serena’s mother and Neal’s mother to the hospital, forcing Neal to confront the reality of his behavior.

When the two mothers entered the room and saw the game console beside Serena’s hospital bed, their disappointment was immediate and impossible to ignore. Serena finally stopped protecting Neal from embarrassment and admitted how alone she felt. Confronted by his mother, the nurses, and the sight of his wife in pain, Neal slowly understood how selfish and immature he had been acting. He unplugged the PlayStation, moved to Serena’s side, and apologized sincerely for the first time. As labor continued, he stayed beside her, helping her breathe and supporting her through every contraction. When their daughter was finally born, the emotional moment changed him completely. Holding his newborn child, Neal realized he had not truly become a father until that moment. Serena understood that love alone could no longer excuse careless behavior, and Neal finally recognized that being present mattered far more than comfort, distractions, or escaping responsibility.
